What we check

What each inspection looks for

Supported declarations from the Packaged Commodities Rules. If the photographs do not show a declaration, that check is not assessed.

  • Manufacturer details

    Name and address of the manufacturer, packer, or importer.

  • Net quantity

    Declared quantity and the unit of measurement.

  • Maximum retail price

    MRP inclusive of all taxes, with the rupee mark.

  • Manufacturing date

    Month and year of manufacture, where the reviewed rule requires it. Not a packing or import date check.

  • Consumer care details

    A phone number, email, or address for complaints.

How a check can end

  • No issue found in assessed checks

    Checks that could be assessed showed no suspected violation. Unassessed checks are not passes.

  • Suspected violation

    A possible problem. A reviewer confirms it before the report is saved.

  • Insufficient evidence

    The photographs do not show enough to assess this check.
